According to Ayurveda, Giloy leaves are rooted and all three parts of gram are very beneficial for health.  But the most used in the treatment of disease is the stem or Dhantal of Giloy.  Anti-oxidants are found in abundance in Giloy.  In addition, it also has anti-inflammatory properties.  Due to these properties or fever, it gives relief in jaundice, lousy, diabetes, urinary problems etc.  Very few and diyas are such that they control all three, Vata, Pitta and Kapha.  Giloy is one of them.  The main effect of Giloy is on the toxin and it plays an effective role in curing the diseases associated with the toxin.
